That's anybody's guess-but I think it has something to do with the whole "independence" rush young people feel in that age range. They're throwing off the habits of the past, especially the ones formed by parents and church-going, and making their own rules. The need for church probably won't return until there is a need for a "church" wedding, or child/children to baptize, or wanting said child to attend parochial school, or, even a funeral. There's that whole "I don't need it, because I'm invincible" attitude, and "church is the opiate of the weak" philosophy, and the "I like to sleep in on Sunday, because I was out too late on Saturday" and a whole lot more of excuses. It may be that they find their church service stuffy, but many churches offer a variety of styles. I guess it boils down to getting punched around by life a little that brings some people back, but sadly, some never return, or attend only on Christmas or Easter as their "duty".

The fact that there is a stereotype about people that attend church. They seem to think that you are soft if you attend church or that life is over as they know it. That's not true though. You can still have a life with Christ and he will make it fun for you.Man gets excited about material things and the impurities of things here on earth when they dont know tha tfollowing God, you can have even more and still have the material things tooo. I am a 24 year old female and I accepted Christ as my savior. I am still enjoying life. And because of God, it's much better because I am happy and although there are ups and downs, I know that God's love is unconditional and I know that he won't put more on me than I can bear. The average person my age is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off because they don't have him in their lives.

I stopped going to church when my sister died and was afraid to go back. But a year and a half or so after she died, I met the man of my dreams and got married and things started making sense in my life again. My husband is from the south and was brought up in the church. Im 26 and he is 19 and now we can share god together. Not only do we go to church on sunday, we do bible studies at home with eachether and I never imagined being so fulfilled having god in my life. I think you should evaluate your life and seek what you are missing. Pray from now and then and im sure some day god will answer your prayers or help you find what you are seeking. (Dont get me wrong, im no jesus freak, but im just one that has had some big prayers answered and I know if I can get throught tough times, I know there was someone helping me.)

It sad that people are so put off by church, I believe that one of the reasons is because people in church seem to be very judgmental of others they do not know and since they have not seen you in their church they assume that you know nothing of Gods ways you know nothing about Jesus. Also a lot of people in church are praising God on Sunday and nasty Monday thru Saturday. But... I would like to tell you this, we go to church to fellowship with other Christians which are part of the family of Christ. In a family you have good and bad, you know what you can take and what you can't, we go to church to learn more about God, to help us understand the bible, remember that God seeks a relationship with us, he wants us to get closer to him to be more like him, he loves us even when we don't love ourselves. Don't let people stop you from learning about unconditional love. If you go somewhere and you don't like it, go someplace else, but don't stop searching until you find what's good for you. Keep in mind you don't always have to go on Sundays a lot of church's have service thru the week. God loves all his children even if we don't go to church, that's the unconditional love I was talking about. I could go on and on with this subject, just remember, there is no love, like the love of God and to understand it more and to grow more, you're going to have to join a bookclub (church) sooner or later to discuss the book. God bless

It's the age that you start to question some of their beliefs.
