What death row could do is signed different types of artists so kids can have wider variety of whom they can look up too.
Also even if a rapper is a gangsta, they should learn to be more socially aware like "Pac, Cube and Ice T is/was. You have a voice, use it for raising the minds of these kids too. Everybody already knows about gangs and drugs the subject is getting boring now. Most of these white kids buying the music only like the beat, the black kids listen to the lyrics more. They don't have to preach, but 2, 3 generations from now, what kind of impact do you think us living this way is gonna have. Sign Nas/ded prez/public enemy type artist give them some hot beats, create an image so that kids will accept their message and your public image will change. The music is your most powerful tool.

Do it through MUSIC. Promote artists that are able to send their messages through ART, which will get the kids listening. The days of gangster rap are pretty much dead, there are very few good artists like that left. I think that that role is now left to the underground artists anymore.

But I believe that if Death Row can adopt not an image, but a philosophy, regarding everything that went on in the '80's and '90's, that the children will listen and follow. There is no better way to influence kids then to get their attention. The key is balancing that with a good message, as it's often hard to send a good message and at the same time, interest today's youth.

Take some songs by Tupac - Dear Mama, Brenda's Got a Baby, Keep Ya Head Up, Mama's Just a Little Girl...and of course tracks like The Good Die Young and Teardrops and Closed Caskets, the ever mainstream Changes. Those showed Pac's softer side, and sent good messages to the youth. It made kids think. And for artists, that's all you can ask for.

I think that a good idea, based off of what you were saying, would be to make an album based off of learning from mistakes. You can start it off with some young gun wanting to be like the appealing side of Tupac or whoever he looks up to. He then grows and gets into the game, into drugs and violence. Then the climax and the downfall. Jail time, death of friends, whatever. The realization. And finally, the rebirth and the message. If you could get a good artist to do something like that, chronologically in an album, I think that would be awesome. Controversial and appealing. Do it, Suge!

Death Row doesn't exactly have a positive reputation. I was about 9 or 10 when Pac was alive and Death Row was at it's peak...and every one in my generation and the one before and after me see death row as a corrupt criminal organization. It's just scary to know how many people on the Death Row label have passed away.

However if you really want to send a positive message out then lead by example. Clear your image up as a bad ruthless thug and reach out to the community. Not just by writing a check, but by actually reaching out and talking to the youth yourself. You still have influence over a lot of young kids, and you have something many don't from these troubled kids-Respect. They respect you because of what you have done and because of how they can relate to you...

I can arrange for you to speak in some public H.S here in my home town of Frisco, and even specifically just the troubled teens. I myself was on the wrong path before, and now I myself mentor my own fellow peers.

If you really are suge and want to send a positive message just drop me an e-mail and I can arrange for you to publicly speak and give your advice...

Stop glorifying violence in your kind of songs. Shooting people, selling drugs, hating the police or any authority. All of that has negative consequences on your entire environment, not just the kids, but especially the kids. No more, Bitches. They are women and meant to be treated as such.

You could put a couple of clowns, or Barny the dinosaur on Death Row, a lot of kids like clowns and Barny.

It could probably start by changing its name from 'Death Row' to something a little more positive.

Let them to stay in school and stay away from drugs, then not have any of your performers get arrested for drug possesion or any other crime.

It would be a good suggestion if it was at all humanly possible, but I'd still give you points for trying.
