When I watched fifth gear about the evo 9 and the popular evo 6, they both got a time attack by the same driver. I was extremley shocked about the 8 year old evo 6 being faster than the evo 9. How was this possible for an old evo 6 defeating a highly technological evo 9. Do they both still use the same AYC and ACD control or is it something else.

I am not too sure about the particular cars in question, but newer cars are generally a lot heavier than older cars. Highly technological cars are also very heavy. The more crap they cram into a car the heavier it gets. Airbags, ABS, traction control, power controls, power steering all add hundreds of pounds to a car. I'm sure that the new car has more power, but I'm also sure that it weighs a good deal more.
