I feel that it is healthier to look out at the world through a window than through a mirror. Otherwise, all you see is yourself and whatever is behind you......Bill Withers.
He who sees with his eyes is blind.....Plato.
A shallow mind is like a mirror, it can only reflect what's before it. The mind must show its depth in order to taste the dark waters of the heart. That's the true image.

The mirror reverses any image reflected off it. When you look at a mirror the image you see of of your face is reversed .Say your are looking at your face in the mirror and you touch your left ear with your hand the image you see looks correct because you see it in the mirror as the left side of your head but if you could step inside the mirror and turn around then your left ear changes position and becomes the right ear to a person looking at the mirror from the outside
I hope i've explained this enough for you to understand my answer.

Let's take a look at it from a different angle...a mirror is a reflector, hence there is no self-image other than its shape and form. I guess the true way to see its image is to see it in the absence of light, whereby eliminating any kind of reflection possible.

When you look at a mirror you are usually looking at the reflection in it, not at the mirror itself.
It's real image is usually a piece of clear hard material (glass) backed by silvery, reflective material.
Sorry to be so literal, but to go one level deeper we often treat people like mirrors...seeing only our own reflection and not the person.

The image on the mirror changes when you move and look at it from a different angle. Can it be said that there is a real reflection? I dunno, but it seems that to attempt to determine it would involve perceiving the mirror from all possible angles at once

Clear, like water and air. What one see' in it is only the image of what it contains.

Who knows.
I have a mirror that makes me look 15 pounds lighter than I am. I love that mirror.
