Do Ducks Eat Fish

Maybe it isn't a good idea for your ducks to go into a pond with fish. If both the ducks and fish were brought together they may be okay but other than that be careful. Maybe also watch how clean the water is for your fish. Sometimes you may see fish and ducks together in a pond in the wild but usually the fish get eaten or die so be careful .Not sure if your ducks will eat your fish but depends on the age, the tameness, the listening and learning skills and the smartness of the ducks. They may learn not to go near the fish. With the turtle, maybe not coz aunties turtle disappeared. She had it with her ducks and one day it kinda went missing. She had the pond and area around it closed in so she was thinking...... Maybe you should buy a cheap $5 sandpit thing that's in the shape of a shell for your ducks. I'm not sure you can get them where you are :)

Yes some species of ducks do eat fish. Mergansers and smew are fish eaters. Some other species, such as wood and even mallards will also eat fish.

Depends what kind of 'duck' you mean. If you are talking about the typical ducks (UK) often seen in parks and ponds, etc. (mallards, teals, gadwalls...), then no, they don't eat fish. However, there are other types of 'duck' , particularly 'diving ducks' such as the goosander, smew, etc, which do eat fish.
