That's about the toughest question on here. IMO, one issue is that technology has put our differences in each others faces. There have always been differences but now they are much more visible. It creates unrest.

Secondly we are facing a world where there are shrinking resources and we are seeing a flattening of the world as jobs re-distribute again due to technology.

To me, the only way is to set a direction of understanding and not just confrontation. If we all try harder to understand and accept we find that all of us have more similarities than differences. Basically we are more alike than not.

One of the best conversations I had was with an Arab in Dubai. We sat and talked over tea. It was interesting and stimulating. I think we could have talked for hours because we were both curious and had no over-arching prejudice. We need more of that.
