Just be nice. And listen, listen to whatever people have to say. LISTEN.

Well, what is world peace, because there will always be people in our country or other countries who will be facing some sort of affliction. I think all we can do is try to be good people, and help out when need be. To me, world peace is nearly as impossible as trying to get an entire group of people, let alone the entire world, to believe in one God, or to follow one political system, like countless tyrants have attempted in the past. I think there would have to be some sort of pandemic, Armageddon-like…nuclear holocaust…whatever…..type of emergency to actually push the entire world to come together. I think that mass fear is what it would take, because so many things seem more attractive than peace to a lot of people. But when the day comes when newspapers, news stations, towns, or entire countries have an air of positive energy for a change...I'll call that world peace. In fact, I think we can push for a form of world peace if we stop being so negative. I’ll knock on Fox News for example, though all new stations are guilty of this. Everything is a war or an attack. Negative images or words are used too much. It’s a war on terror, a war on drugs, a war in our schools, attack on education. Stuff like that doesn’t help either.

What can we do? Put a contract on every beauty queen contestant who answers '... world peace...'.

Seriously: think globally, act locally.
My main action... teach my children well. Make them thinking, loving individuals who really believe in the golden rule.

Other actions, give... locally and to Non-governmental organizations (NGO's) like Oxfam who deal in development.
Steady economic growth is a preventative measure for almost all conflicts. Poor and unstable economies are a prime breeding ground for war.

Push my wealthy western nation to honour their pledge to the millenium development goals signed in 1992. That included giving 0.7 percent of GDP to aid to the least developed countries of the world. 'Write' a letter to that effect...(emails don't get as much notice). 'Write' a letter to my government to increase diplomatic corps so that we can influence situations before they get out of hand.

I walked in a march against violence and discrimination against homosexuals last year. It took a lot for me to do so (being a white, middle-aged hetero with some ingrained prejudices), but I let my mind, my logic, rule over any irrationality. Anything against violence is a step in the right direction.

"If there is light in the soul,
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world."

Chinese proverb

I guess it's more reasonable to start with ourselves. Make peace within ourselves first. Then do something the relationships between us and our kids. Just let's try not to shout at them. Let at least them live in peace. Don't quarrel with your parents and friends. Stop reproaching your wife and boss. And you'll see step by step we'll do it!!

Establish a universal living wage in all countries. Next work towards energy independence for ALL countries. Brazil is already there, now other countries must follow their lead then assist others. Wow Suge Knight and Puff Daddy working things out really warms my heart (sarcasm).

If it could be done it would of been done by now.
It doesn't mean we need to stop trying.
I remember in college thinking my generation would save the world. We didn't. But, one person at a time we can have affect on. It never hurts to try.

The answer is simple, you do not fight for peace. Peace is what you get after you defeat evil and tyranny. Fight for freedom and justice and peace will follow you all your days.

I think that after myself and Sean "P Diddy" Combs worked out our differences that anything is possible. I think that most feuds in the world is caused by mis-communication. Therefore i think communication is the key in achieving world peace.

The way that our attitudes have been over the last century... I, me, myself.... we have worsened the situation. If each person minds his act and ensures that it is towards the betterment of humankind without damaging the environment, it would be a win win situation all round.
