They shoot movies on location all the time and usually return to Hollywood, Atlanta, New York, etc. when they want to build sets for the other scenes.

No, they're deffinately not all made in Hollywood. Most of the studios aren't even in Hollywood, they're in other parts of Los Angeles. They shoot the movies all over the place, sometimes in Hollywood and at the studios, but also all over the country and the world. They shoot in Canada a lot because it is cheaper to film there. If you look on imdb.com they have many of the filming locations for movies listed as well.

No... well all American movies are produced by companies mostly based in Hollywood. But Most American movies are 'made' or shot on location around the world. Some movies are entirely shot on sound stages in Hollywood, like The Santa Claus 3 etc.. does that answer your question?
Depends what you mean by 'made'... coz the shooting is done on location around the world but the editing is mostly done in Hollywood at Warner Brothers, or 20th Century Fox... etc.

No. Places like the rest of the world also make movies. There's Ballywood, the BBC,
Canadian film board to name a few. I believe most Jackie Chan movies were made in China,Nicolas Cage's recent remake of Wicker Man, the original(1974) was a BBC production. MAD MAX was made in Australia.
I think Hollywood has become term that reflects more of a type of film, and the processes that were used to make it ranging from the allocation of monies to the use of special effects.

No, they're made all over the world. An American film company may work in Europe, Asia, or anywhere else.

No, definatly a big location. I dont' think the movies are really shot there as much as edited there.
The headquarters of a lot of studios i'd think are there......not enough knowledge to know if its "most" or "half"....
