Now that you have identifed the insect, you need to identify what stage of growth they are in. If you see adults and eggs, certain insecticides will not kill the larvae that is going to emerge. Check your shrubs, see what is the most serious stage of growth...eggs, larvae, nymphs or adults. Be certain that you know what your insect is. If you have a mite, you will need a miticide, not a pesticide. You can also call your USDA agricultural extension and ask for the pesticide expert who will advise you on what is the most appropriate chemical to use. The call to the extension is worth its weight in gold. Free advice from experts.
