With the accumulation of events (U.K. Troops, U.N. Sanctions, uranium, etc.) I'm beginning to think we might be close to a World War III -- thoughts?

Iran sure has been pushing for something to happen so they can scream to the muslim world how those "terrible Godless westerners" are attacking poor ole innocent Iran.

No, not a chance. War? Why? Because their troops were trespassing in Iran? Why blame that on Iran. Would you like it if suddenly some soldiers from some other country far away just entered your country without permission? What would you do? Iran's just using common sense by detaining these soldiers. Eventually they'll be sent back to the U.K.

Iran hasn't done anything violent to anyone. They just happen to have a leader who's a bit crazy. The difference is that this guy just says crazy things, whereas Bush and Blair actually go out of their way to create violence in the world. Which is more crazy?

I don't think that the Middle East is capable of restraining themselves any more than they are. If there are military attacks on Iran, I'm guessing that it won't just be Iran fighting back. There would be a massive increase in the amounts of terrorist attacks on the U.K. and U.S., and not just in the Middle East.

Any military with half a brain knows that attacking Iraq would be stupid. That's why it's not happening and won't happen.

I agree. I think that the States and UK will be at war with the entire Middle East soon.

Let's pray great Brittania does not, but if they should go to war with Iran, they have a great chance of winning.

I think the us is going to war with Iran because after the iraq war, all those soldiers got to go somewhere. Unemployment is high now but when the iraq war is done, where are the soldiers gonna go. Plus, Cheney and Bush sure as hell don't want the uk to own irans oil.

If, and only if, the troops are tried and executed. More than likely I see this as a distraction from their nuclear program. I find it hilarious that the Russians are refusing to continue work on their reactor till they get paid. Not in Euros or rubles but US dollars, too funny.

I can only hope so. If western civilization is to survive, the time to strike is while the metal is still hot. These infractions can no longer be tolerated.
