I was 150 miles from my home going to an online hook up in her small town. It was just before midnight and I could not find her house. Sheriffs Deputy pulled me pulled me over because I seemed lost , and because my plate was partially obscured by my Universities Plate cover. ( they can do that ) I figured because my record was clean ( I heard dispatch say this ) and I had not been drinking or otherwise impaired that I would be on my way in a few minutes

Long story short - the deputy ended up searching my car ( after letting me go after 20 30 minutes of grilling me over every detail of why I was there ). His search of my car was actually brief and found nothing.

I think that he should have accepted my ( true ) story that I was on a ( potential ) booty call , and left it at that. I did not even meet the woman who stayed up for me because after he did a Columbo and searched the car, I was not in the mood to meet the woman , and I did not want him to harass me again.

Please elaborate on what do you mean by it?

A link as in what your rights truly are and when it no longer is your right? -- If that is what you mean, then it all really depends on the context of a situation. If say, you were to take something to an extreme like free speech for instance to a point of violence, then you lose that right to the police.

Sorry if I didn't answer your question
