I had my eyebrows 'professionally' tinted on sunday at a day spa. I told the lady that I only wanted them to be a tiny bit darker as I have pale skin and am a redhead. She told me she could match them to the tones of my hair which I was happy with. However, when she had finished and showed me in the mirror, it took all my self control not to burst into tears, they are a really dark brown verging, I think, on black. She said that it would take a bit to get used to as I am so used having very light brows. I still hate them and wondered if it possible to bleach eyebrows that have been dyed? I have read that facial bleach may do the trick, but I dont know if it works only on naturally dark brows or would it work on dyed ones. Any help would be appreciated

I definitely wouldn't bleach them at home. If the day spa won't fix them, you could try to make them fade faster. One way would be to coat your brows with cleansing oil (or any cooking oil will do in a pinch) and massage it in thoroughly. Then wash your face as usual with your regular cleanser (or to expedite fading on your brows with a stripping shampoo like baby shampoo). Hope this helps.

I would go back and complain but bear in mind that your eyebrows look strange as you are not used to them, people wont notice what you have done, just that you look a bit different. I have dyed my eyebrows lots of times and they dont stay very dark for long. Try washing the dye out with Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo but be careful of your eyes. This also works for when you dye your hair too dark. Good luck. Next time by a home kit which comes in light brown as well as dark, its easy and cheap to do yourself.

DON'T bleach them yourself!! They will turn white and look even worse. If I were you, I would call the salon where you had it done and speak to the manager. Explain to her/him exactly what you told the woman that did your brows and what she told you about waiting a few days to get used to it.

Tell them that you have waited and still hate it and ask how he or she will fix the problem.

Make sure you take down their name and write down what they told you they would do. Then go back , take that paper with you and have them fix it.

The reasons I would do it over the phone are to :
a. save time in travel,
b. save time if they refuse to fix it
c. I am bolder on the phone than in person

If they refuse to fix it, go to another reputable salon and have them do it and NEVER return to the first salon, making sure they know you will not.

Hope that helps some.

Wait a little bit, she might be right. It might take a little time to get used to, they will probably lighten up gradually. I know you want them changed right away, but too much manipulation might make the color worse or what if they thin out or fall out. Then you'd really be upset. I hated the way my eyebrows were waxed one time, I thought I looked like a witch. LOL! I got very good with an eyebrow pencil, then they grew in.

If you want to bleach them, wait a while. Too many chemicals on your eyebrows might make them fall out. In the mean time, try dusting them with a lighter shade of eyebrow powder with an angle brush.

Go back there (if you can) and complain. If you are not satisfied with what they have done they are obliged to change it for you - free of charge.
You can also get facial hair bleach to use at home, that would do the trick, but it's usually better to get it done by a professional

I'd be afraid that trying bleach or peroxide would only make them pink.
It takes about 6 weeks for brows to naturally grow out and be replaced. Probably not much else you can do but wait. Might try camoflaging them with foundation and powder to make them look lighter?

Hi!

Whatever you do, don't do anything yourself.

My friend bleached her eyebrows after such an incident, and they turned green - no kidding!

Like some of the others, I would suggest you go back to the salon and ask their advice.

I feel for you, I really do!
