im doing a food tech assignment for school and i really need help with one part of the assessment!
the country im doing is Italy.
Q. Research how the follwing factors have affected the cultures choice of food and the development of their traditional cuisine. List your findings under headings;
Geography, Climate, Religion, Meal Patterns, Festivals and Traditions, Beliefs and attitudes, Economies, Level of Technological Development.
I can find information on these things but i need info in relation to how theyv affected the countries choice of food etc.

Climate - they eat food that they can grow and find
Religeon - think lent and other catholic beliefs
Festivals same as religion
Economy - look at what the poor can afford.
Trade look at their trading partners and see what foods they bring over. I wont send you reference since this site is for help not for someone to do the homework for you.

Certain beliefs hold cattle to be sacred and would rather starve than eat hamburger. Therefor meat is not in their diet.
Certain climates makes it difficult to cultivate various types of food and vegetables, combined with a poor economy, will limit food choice. For example, you can't grow bananas in Russia, the economy is very poor in many parts, and the result is that they don't have bananas as a fruit staple.
Think of Italy, what are they known for. Olives are very easy to grow in their climate and are readily available to the poor.

DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. Why are you not retaining the information that your teacher is giving you. What are you going to do in the real world. Tell your parents your problem, plead to go to an authentic Italian restaurant this week.
Dress neat, write out basic question.
Go to eat
Compliment on food
Ask if you can talk to chef / cook very POLITELY
Ask cook /chef
