I am a lot happier when I get my mind off myself and on to other people and see what I can do for them-how I can make their day brighter and it ends ujp coming back to me- In other words, when we do for others, it makes us happier than when we focus totally on ourselves.

Dwell on your unhappiness and it makes you even more unhappy-been thre, done that-got sick of it and no one comes to pity parties.

So much life to be lived,so many things to see and do, so many ways to change your attitudes and focus on all your blessings. And we all have them in spite of pain, troubles, etc.

The heart of the matter, I think, is concerned with one's mind management. In other words, major religions have long taught their followers to practice how to control the mind such as practical mediation. Moreover, an English proverb confirms, "All happiness is in the mind."

Figure out what you really enjoy and then go do it.
Try to figure out who and what is truly important to you and take measures to keep them close to your heart. Be sure to be thankful for the simple, day to day pleasures of life. Appreciate things like a sunrise, a nice day, your pets, family etc... and soon you will realize how great life is and you will be happy
