when i was pregnant my baby son kept on moving during the early contractions...... as the contractions became more intense it was difficult to tell whether or not he was moving as the pain made it difficult to think about things like that ! good luck with the birth of your baby. it's all worth it in the end !

THe baby moves because contractions are uncomfortable for it too. Remember when your in established labour the baby is being pushed by the contractions down the birth canal. Some people get really strong pre labour contractions theses are called braxton hicks... www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/childbirth/156.html
Not nice but all normal. You haven't got long to wait now till the real thing. Good luck and a I wish you a speedy labour!

Yes it does, but you dont feel it because your in so much pain. Thats why the hook you up to the fetal heart monitor while your in labour, so they can make sure everything is alright (baby movement, heart beat, and how far apart your contractions are).
Start timing your contractions, and if they come in a regular pattern, I would go in, or call your doctor and tell him what is going on.
It could also be the baby pressing against something its not suppose to. But feeling the baby move is always a good sign :)

Yes, they keep moving right up until the very last minute, as it were.
While I was in labour with my youngest son, in hospital and having strong contractions every four minutes when he decided that he'd turn around-I actually felt him do it. Everything 'stopped' contraction wise for about an hour and we then proceeded with him back to back!
The reason it's more painful is most probably that he/she is pressing on a nerve while stretching out in response to the pressure. Perfectly normal response.
Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy and the imminent birth.

Depends on the baby, buy I'd generally think yes. You expect them to just sit there all "La dee da"? There's a lot going on -- They're going to react to it.
