I do card making and LOVE it. It is wonderful because people love getting something handmade and it is fun to do. It is practical and you can make a bunch a head of time and then when an event comes up, you already have one ready. I save a ton of money not buying them in the store anymore.

I was dragged to a pottery class which I really enjoyed. I can't paint at all but by reading I found I could do designs using syringes the large ones you can buy from the hay store (they are used on race horses for extra vitamins and iron of course) You don't use the needle only the stopper part and load with paint. Then you can do swirls and spots in colours. cool ! Out of all the classes I have done I enjoyed this the most thanks to my friend Maria.

I taught myself how to do counted cross stitch. It requires patience though. Simple and cheap 3x5 starter kits with everything you need to make a thread picture can be bought anywhere craft supplies are sold. Wal-Mart carries them.

This past Christmas I got into decoupage to make gift boxes and frames as gifts for family. It was so easy and a lot of fun. I found out that there is a lot more to paper art than one might think beyond preschool cut and paste. The best gift I made with decoupage was a serving tray. Example :

Earrings and bracelets are fun to make and give or sell too.

I would say that exploring Michael's Craft store might help you find something to do that fits your personality.

HAVE FUN!

I'm sure there are. It's not up to me or anybody else to tell you what those are. Some things take skill, like painting, but if it's a fun class, it shouldn't matter. Some art studios offer stuff like that, you should look around. Some colleges offer summer classes like that, though idk how old you are. You could try classes like creative writing, pottery, belly dancing, or try that stuff on your own...idk how any of that would be too useful of course...just fun. Depends on what you wanna do.

Well, yoga & gardening are useful for your health. Painting, I would say, is less useful unless you're painting something for/in your house, or are making art for your walls (or something along those lines). Crochet or knitting would come in handy for making cheap winter blankets. Especially for making baby blankets, hehe. Sewing would also be useful, as you could make almost anything (clothes, purses, wallets, etc), & save yourself a lot of money.

Try sculpting, painting, scrap booking.

You could try photography (I'm an aspiring photographer), drawing, try making interior design models (You can buy clip art books at barnes and nobles and make little models of them), you could buy some of those snap together models and paint them... there's a trillion ideas!

Try googling crafts and see what comes up.

Check with your local craft store for classes they offer. Take a few and see if any interest you. That way, you won't go to any large expense on a craft that won't hold you interest. While there, look at all the pamphlets they offer on different crafts. These are very inexpensive.

Try wood work, its really simple one you get into it. And its much better than sitting infront of the computer every day! For a first project try something simple but affective, like a memory box. I just got into woodwork, and im making a memory box myself. For any tips on how to make it, drop me a e-mail!

I recently came across this web site when I was just looking for something to do -

People make cards to send to children who are battling illness. I'd say that this qualifies as something fun and useful! Anyone can do this and it's such a wonderful thing to know that something that you do will make a sick kid happy.
