If the person you’re meeting up with is interested in pets, there is no better topic than this! Just start discussing on how much you adore the activities of your pet and then the conversation will automatically grow faster!
The next wonderful topic if you’re talking to a girl would be shopping. May be, if you start like saying that you went shopping and ended up buying some cosmetics which were not worth it! This way, you could start asking her for better shopping ideas & the best places to shop. If you really wish to become friendly with her, give her an impression that you highly admire all her replies !
If it is boys or men, talk to them about cricket which is most men’s favourite & if they don’t find it interesting, discuss about cars / bikes if you’ve some good knowledge about them… see the difference.. you’re going to get closer to them !!

The coolest topic of conversation with someone you want to make an impression on is *whatever it is you are passionate about*. It's no good talking to them about Ayn Rand (or whatever) if you don't really care deeply about her work.
If you know what they are interested in then see if there's any aspect of it that you are interested in and talk about that, but if it bores you witless, don't bother.

Well a lot of it depends on the person that you are talking to and social settings... But there are some things that are universal... Such as alcohol... Guys talking to girls about chick flicks is a good conversation. Call me whatever you want but guys who watch chick flicks have relationships which last longer than those that watch action moves, for example, with their girlfriends. There was a study on this.

have you read atlas shrugged by ayn rand? its a powerful book which is about how a man should live his life for his won and not ask others to live it for him..i see this topic working for me. i simply inject one principle and we talk about it.
you can also talk about any current events which you know.
if you're talking to a girl, however, just ask her about herself! i don't mean to offend, though but i think girls enjoy talking about themselves. peace out!!
