I totally hear you man. I've had the same problem for years.
I've finally found something that works for me. I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo. Expensive, but marvelous. It has menthol so it exposes the scalp. AFTER that, I use Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment (The orange stuff, best you can buy over the counter). Lastly, I use the Tea Tree conditioner to moisturize.
If that still doesn't work, it's time to see a dermatologist and get a prescription. Don't stop until you get it fixed. Unfortunately, people react very negatively to dandruff, especially if you're young, and assume things about you that can hurt you socially and professionally.

I know this sounds odd, and perhaps gross...but if you shampoo your hair daily, don't....I used to have a rather bad dandruff problem, I realized the more often I washed the worse it got. For some reason there is a common misconception that you should wash your hair daily when in actuality this stips many of the naturally occuring oils from your hair and scalp (in turn drying it out). I shampoo my hair twice a week or less, other days I just rinse with water or condition only...(and no I don't smell or anything!)
Keep in mind it will take some time for your scalp to adjust to this so for the first week or two your hair may feel excessively oily, but before you know it you will have healthier hair and scalp!

Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. Buy an anti dandruff shampoo and conditioner and make sure you thoroughly rinse your hair after shampooing and conditioning. Don't shampoo unless you need to, and no nothing is lacking in your body.

Try rinsing your hair with vinegar, massage it into scalp and let sit for a few mins and then rinse it out. It will restore the pH balance to your scalp. You might be lacking Vit A.

Use cooler water...the hot water dries out your scalp too. Keep using TGel for a while too...but I bet its the hot water if you take long hot showers.
