My mum has suggest we (my family) take a hoilday (in August) to the same city as my best friend lives in.

I'm 17 and my best friend is 18. We live about a 2hour/8hour drive away. I don't live in the USA.

My mum wants to go there for a soccer game and she needs to get her passport renewed (which means she has to go there for that). I really want to go so I can catch up with some new friends. So in other words i'm extremly excited! Even though it's only March.

I love my best friend and we've talked about it and we want to be more than friends when I move up there next year.

Do you think I should keep this hoilday as a suprise and turn up at his door step and be oh so romantic?! Or should I tell him?

Which would you prefer?

you should let him know that you will come to see him but don't tell him when ... if he asks tell him it's a surprise, tell him you will find me there when you least expect it.. that way both of you will feel more anticipation and excitement and it will be at the same time very romantic.
GOOD LUCK!!

Oh, goodness gracious, absolutely do NOT show up unannounced. That is unforgivable, not romantic. Show him the courtesy of letting him know right away so that he can have as much fun looking forward to and preparing for this visit as you are having. Also, as you look forward to this visit, your thoughts are going to go on an adventure, they are going to change and go here and go there over the weeks to come. If you did not tell your friend right away, he would not be on the same adventure and then when you showed up at his place, you would not be "on-the-same-page" in your thoughts, so to say. See what I mean? Call the poor unsuspecting lad soon.

Surprises are fun, but there's always the risk that he might make other plans for August if he doesn't know you're coming. He might go somewhere for a holiday too or decide to do something with his friends if he doesn't know you're coming.

I think you should tell him so that he can prepare and just in case he thought that u werent interested in him and u show up and a girl is with him. Tell him your coming, so you can blab on the phone about each other'splans. and to avoid confusion too

I would want to know. What happens if he is on holiday without your knowledge, you would miss each other.
