It has to be the United States, since Texas -- where they have a dish called "chicken fried steak" which is, you guessed it, a slab of beef dipped in batter and deep-fried -- is technically a region of the United States.

Which is not to say fried beef is bad. The Lithuanians eat this stuff called cipilinai which is basically hamburger wrapped in a rugby-ball sized mass of mashed potatoes and deep fried. Yummy. I understand you can eat almost four in one lifetime before you have a coronary.

Second place goes to Ukraine, where they eat salo, which is raw baconfat. Sometimes they eat it dipped in chocolate.

Korea. Kimchi is startlingly horrible.

To make Kimchi...

Chop into large squares chinese cabbage.
Get large earthenware pot and put a layer on bottom.
Now layer with Garlic, Korean red Pepper paste,(has a very peculiar taste) OYSTERS..(for seafood Kimchi) Now another layer of cabbage and continue untill pot is full. Now pour in Vinegar cover and leave on roof of your house (near the toilet vent) in the sun to ferment for 6 months (or for the fuller flavour 1 year).

Now open the jar.
Scoop out the rotten fermented cabbage mixture and leave on a plate. Wait for some unsuspecting westerner to think that it looks like whole meal pasta.

The cabbage rots and ferments. The oysters putrify.
It tatstes exactly how you think it might.

It is incredibly horrible.

Korean national dish.

BTW Korea has the highest rate of Stomach cancer anywhere in the world. No wonder if you ask me.

It has to be united arab emirates - they eat lambs testicles! (hope thats how you spell it, not often you write that word)! When in a supermarket once i passed the meat counter and they had a whole cows head which had been skinned! It was all red flesh and popping eyeballs! urgh! It was that bad i went back and had another look as i could not believe it.

Although i have heard china eats dogs and monkey brains.....so i prob think there are a few hewy dishes around!!!

In Norway, they have the most disgusting fish dish you could imagine. 'Lute-fisk' as they call it, is fish that has been buried in lye. It is almost jelly-like in substance and tastes like victorian wall paper glue.

Tripe & onions from Lancashire UK.
Tripe is a type of edible offal made from the stomach of various domestic animals. Beef tripe is typically made from the first three of a cow's four stomachs, the rumen (blanket/flat/smooth tripe), the reticulum (honeycomb and pocket tripe), and the omasum (book/bible/leaf tripe). Abomasum (reed) tripe is also seen, but with much less frequency, owing to its glandular tissue content. Sheep and pork tripe are also produced.
