Consider it a lesson in life. I know this is so very much not what you want to hear (or, I suppose, read).

Nonetheless you don't always get what you want no matter how able and responsible you are. I know you've heard it before but it really does get worse when you aren't living with your parents and actually have to deny yourself the things you want yourself.

Ok, that said, it's been what, a day or two? Patience is a virtue. Do you need the mouse this very minute? Will you die without it? Or, possibly, can you step back from your emotions. Look into the virtues of pet ownership. Slowly, and by that I mean over a few weeks, give your parents examples of how owning a pet would foster responsibility and maturity. Maybe even buy a plant and keep it alive just to show that you can do it on your own rather than relying on them. Talk to them like they are your equals if you want them to treat you as one. Try to understand their reasons to say no and find ways to negate those reasons. You have to be able to truly understand and appreciate their reasons in order to expect them to accept yours.

I had a similar experience when I was about 13 (I'm 38 now!!) I REALLY wanted a hamster for my birthday in October and my Mum said no way but I kept asking and asking and I thought I'd worn her down near to christmas cos she said my Dad was going to be working on christmas day and so she was going to save one SPECIAL gift to open when my Dad finished work. I was convinced it was my longed for hampster and was soooooo excited when he finally got home at about 6pm. My Mum went to get the SPECIAL gift from out of the cellar (basement), I was holding my breath and thinking of how much I would thank them both when my little fur ball was revealed. To my utter horror and disbelief the SPECIAL gift was a makeup set!!!! I couldn't believe it, I tried real hard to be grateful but I was just so disappointed and sad that I had to go to bed to remove myself from the family and be on my own. I know how fed up you are but maybe if you talk to your Mum about this and tell her how much you really want the mouse and how good you'll be looking ofter it then she may just let you get one. My Mum said no and she meant no but the following year on my birthday in October my friends presented me with a hamster in a cage with bedding and food and everything it needed!!! I walked home from school with it with the biggest smile on my face ever carrying my hampster (I had amazing friends in school) My Mum was so impressed that all my friends had clubbed together and bought me the hampster a year on that she let me keep it!! Good luck honey and I hope you get your mouse xx
