It depends on the culture of the company.

Usually it means professional (ie. skirt and blouse). A receptionist is the first point of contact with anyone visiting the building or calling on the phone. First impressions count, so if the girl on reception looks "immaculate" then you get a good feeling about the company itself.

I would go to the interview and see how it's going. If you feel comfortable with the people conducting the interview, ask them what would be expected.

In our office, we have a casual day on Friday and this applies to everyone (including the lady who works on reception).

I hope this has helped. Good luck with the interview (I hope you get the job!)

I can give you my experience, i went for a job 4 months ago and was dressed in a business like manner, white shirt, with skirt and jacket, preferrably navy blue or black. Makeup should be minimal, hair tidy, perhaps pulled back or tied up, also wear closed shoes. As a receptionist you are the face of the company and first impressions count. So if you look good the business looks good. Also have your resume ready, and do some practise interviews to gain your confidence. Seek has some tips on interview techniques.Hope this helps

They mean being well groomed. So look smart, clean shoes, clean nails that are neatly trimmed and maybe varnished in a pale colour, styled hair with no wayout colours, probably tailored outfit and maybe a skirt rather than trousers, tights or stockings but NOT bare legs, a neat handbag without dingle dangles or badges. Basically nothing way out and everything clean and tidy.
And the very best of luck to you

As a receptionist you are the public face of the company, the first person all visitors deal with.Because of this employers need to know that you will be presentable at all times.so the answer is fashionable but not provocative.Good luck with your interview.

When my daughter went for a interview and it said immaculate presentation she was told it meant - black or dark skirt or trousers, blouse, tidy hair, not loads of makeup in other words looking very smart and clean and tidy.
They do not want you turning up in jeans, hoody, hair messy etc.
I hope this helps and good luck with the job.

You will be the first person that any clients will see so you have to look clean, tidy and smart. Try knee length black skirt and pale top (not too low cut), small heeled shoes, tidy hair and natural make up. Oh and a smart black jacket - good luck

i agree with what all the people have said, but don't forget to be on time or early, often a receptionist is supposed to be there before everyone else arrives.

be friendly when answering calls, remember you are the first impression people have of the company you work for.
basically you are the bussiness.

Good luck, i hope you get.

Immaculate presentation means well turned out. They don't want you to look good, they want you to be as near perfect as you can.

A smart suit, hair perfectly styled. Nails done and some tasteful makeup probably.

Groomed and proffessional looking i.e. nuetral clothing no short skirts and last nights clothes.

As you are the receptionist you will be the first port of call for any clients and you will be giving them an impression of the company.

Good luck

In addition to all the excellent advice above, can I just add, SMILE! It's so important that the first person you see representing a company is welcoming and friendly, willing to help (i.e. not finishing a personal phone call while someone stands at reception and waits for your attention), and if they can't solve a problem, they know someone who can! Best of luck!
