I have female mice and they dont stink unless their cage isnt cleaned when it should be. The only smell they produce is just..well.. their smell if you get what I mean, like dogs smell like dogs, mice smell like mice. Now this smell doesnt stink, but I would be incorrect if I were to tell you that you cannot tell if there are mice in your room because you can. The male mice on the other hand STINK! If their cage is not cleaned on time or even earlier, you almost feel like your going to vomit from, lol dont get male mice.

I have 2 mice, it used to be 4. I can tell you, they do smell. And this is NOT because I don't look after them - they get cleaned out twice a week! Fact of the matter is, mice pee a LOT. They have a very distinctive smell. Hamsters are a lot less smelly it's true, but they still need to be cleaned out weekly. I think mice are cuter and cleverer, but I don't know if that will help convince your mum!

I actually keep my mice in the spare room because of the smell and the amount of noise they make! So if you have a spare room.....

I've kept rats and hamsters too, and can tell you that rats are just as stinky as mice, they are basically large mice. At least you can bath rats tho!

They do tend to smell. If you are really diligent about keeping their cage and bedding clean, you greatly reduce the chance of that, though. And, though it may sound sexist, if you get a female, you're less likely to have odor problems than you would with a male.
As far as convincing your mom, have your past actions shown you to be responsible about keeping up with regular chores and not losing interest in new things after a short time? Maybe you can discuss it with her and strike some sort of bargain. Often, if things don't work out, the pet store will let you return the mouse, though they will still keep your money. Oh, and if you do get a mouse, remember that as tiny as they look, they can squeeze through spaces that look even tiny-er. Make certain that you keep it in the proper kind of cage. Good luck.

They do stink. Maybe ask for a gerbil or hamster instead, they're not as stinky. In fact, if you keep their cages clean they really don't stink at all.

mice dont stink unless you dont ever clean their cage. you only have to clean the cage once a week and that just means dumping the bedding, wiping the pan real quick, replace the bedding, and... thats it. it doesnt stink. search for "pet mice info" and give her a facts sheet that helps your case:D

good luck(btw they only live about 2 years, if shes scared of the comitment)

nicely thank goodness there are mothers nevertheless around that may not provide little ones each and each factor they desire. in case you elect to have a clean telephone a lot, why not start up saving your pocket funds or perform a little greater effective jobs around the domicile to make funds. in case you maintain as much as purchase it for your self you will take excitement in it greater and take greater care of it. in case you have not have been given a lot reminiscence left on your telephone, in basic terms think of for a 2d, a telephone is for using as a telephone, a digital camera is for taking photos, and you may placed your photos on your pc. it rather is not necesary to have an all making a music all dancing telephone that does each and everything.

The only reason small pets "stink" is due to the fact their owners don't keep up with them. That's it, that's all. If you clean them like they're 'sposed to be cleaned, they don't smell. Simple enough? Yes.

Your mother is right.

Mice stink like oh-holy-hell.

Why don't you get a hamster or a rat? They don't stink at all, and are exceptionally clean animals. Mice... not so much.
