why does applebees Microwave all it's food?

I worked there for a couple weeks, and they have 7 microwaves on the cooks line.
They microwave: noodles, mashed potatoes, soup, vegetables, sandwich meats, sauces for desserts, desserts, etc etc...... Whatever happened to Cooking?

Not only are they microwaving everything that isn't broiled or fried, but they are microwaving most of it in styrofoam and in plastic bags! That can't be good for us. "Steamed" vegetables means microwaved in plastic. It is so bad for the environment, too.

It makes more money. By getting customers their food faster, they can serve more. A lot of restaurants have food already cooked and hold them hot (like chicken pot pies), but not cooked already then microwave them like Applebee's. A friend worked there and told me the same thing.

Well not only Applebees does it.. red lobster, fridays, ruby tuesdays, olive garden, EVERYWHERE lol
Sucks yes i know.. thats why pick a cook book and cook away at home or have a salad when your out to eat. Yet those chicken tenders are good, sorry i dont have the exact awnser, but will a lil truth do?

I know that is like so gross, its ashame you can't get a nice cooked meal with hands instead of all these microwaves. i had no idea they microwaved their food, well with the sauces and soups its kind of understandable, as long as its fresh, makes me wonder.............................

Its because we have become a society of instant gratification . So people are less willing to wait for the real cooking of a meal
