Does the idea of killing for Jesus make them better warriors? Can you recruit more soldiers at Pat Robertson Liberty University versus Berkley University in San Francisco?
-----------
DENVER -- An Air Force chaplain who protested that evangelical Christians were trying to ''subvert the system" by winning converts among cadets at the Air Force Academy was removed from administrative duties last week, just as the Pentagon began an in-depth study of alleged religious intolerance among cadets and commanders at the school.

Surveys of present and former cadets have shown that some students said they felt a heavy and sometimes offensive emphasis on evangelical Christianity, with praise for cadets who pronounce their ''born-again" status and insults aimed at Jews, Roman Catholics, and nonevangelical cadets.

You are casting judgment on the entire US military based on a single incident that happened at the Air Force Academy. Another thing you listed "Berkley University in San Francisco". There is no such place. Do you mean the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, CA? (I went to school there). Liberty University isn't associated with Pat Robertson. Do you mean Jerry Falwell? There is no way to know if Christians make better "warriors" than anyother faith or even for Athiests for that matter. You should be thankful for our armed forces who fight to give you the freedoms to worship in any way that you feel compelled to. That is if you do believe or have a faith.

I do not think one's religious views strongly affect his ability to be a warrior (with some exceptions for religions that promote absolute pacifism). The emphasis on evangelical Christianity within the military does sound unsettling, doesn't it?

Not so, except that they have historically succeeded in beraying one another. For instance, The Catholic Church exterminated the early Cathar Christians. Though the Knights Templar had fought in the name of Chritianity, they were either arrested and tried under Pope Clement V's order and the Papal investigation.

Think also of those days when Cardinals betrayed their kings and queens, or manipulated one Christian King against another. And not forgetting those who betray their countries for gold. Spain fought England in the name of Catholism vs. Protestanism. And of course, England vs. Ireland in the name of politicised Christian beliefs.

Christian traitors can't be called Christian warriors. By right they should call themselves terrorists, not warriors.

Since when is some button-pushing skinhead a "warrior"? The whole air force is about to be replaced by robots anyway.

A 'heavy influence on evangelical Christianity' ! The sky is falling in!
What's next ? is it going to be a crime to 'offend' someone? Of course,we should always be considerate and respectful. But it's not always possible to please/avoid offending everyone.
Obviously, there should be no insults to people of other religions.
