The Umberlexicon (Book of Shadowed Words) is a collection of illustrated volumes transcribed ceturies ago by the pre-Christian demon, Dhaqilatss. It contains arcane knowledge amassed at that time by the loathsome occupants of Its home dimension, Tholhivez. Over the centuries it has been added to and expanded by each of its temporary owners. Dhaqilatss is actually one of the more powerful members of a God-like race of beings called "The Forgotten Ones" created in a parallel plane of existence called Tholhivez. They were some of the first bio-spiritual beings to interact with humanity. When a rivalry formed between The Forgotten Ones and their co-inhabitants, "The Primordials", it threatened the development of humanity on Earth as well as the stability of the gateways between this reality and the countless others.
In an attempt to re-balance the bio-spiritual harmony of Earth's ecto-sphere with its corporeal-sphere, the Goddess Danu initiated an alliance between other divine entities that protected this spiritual plane. Together, these Gods of various Earth cultures influenced the spiritual-genetic-baseline (S. G. B.) that let figures throughout the world develop a self-regenerating bloodline of champions. Amongst the first generation of these champions was a powerful geomancer named Aztrin the Healer.
