"if you're down, and confused
and you don't remember, who you're talkin' to
concentration slips away
'cause your baby is so far away"
well there's a rose, in a fisted glove
and the eagle flys with the dove
and if you can't be, with the one you love
honey, love the one you're with
Grassy will be with you always Rebellious
Lose the rest stick with the best

Someone once told me to be careful what advice you listen to. My friends didn't like my boyfriend but then I realised I didn't really like the relationships they were in either. Their advice was very biased. Some just didn't want me in a relationship. They liked me being single because nothing would change. The fact is, years later I am still with him and they are still having serially dysfunctional relationships. So no, the friendships and your relationship should really have no bearing on each other.

Unless you know he's The One and he knows you're The One for him, you should never ditch your friends for a relationship. Only when that person is your best friend and you've both committed your lives to one another should you take the side of your relationship over your friends.
Well, and it's all circumstantial, of course.

There must be a reason why your friends don't like the guy you're dating. Happened to me. My girl pals don't like my ex and even my parents, brothers and sister! Something tells me something is wrong somewhere. I finally dumped him. That decision made me realised i actually did the right thing!

I have dated SO many men that my friends did not approve of! (Please keep in mind that three of my "best-of-friends" are male. It's like having three protective fathers/older brothers to get through).
I look at it this way... everyone concerned is SUPPOSED to be mature, responsible adults. Their thoughts, opinions, and judgments are their own... and unless asked for, they are to keep such to themselves (rarely works that way. I'm afraid no man is 'good enough' for me!... at least according to my chastity gang. Argh!)
Let's just put it this way... I have my own mind and I date whomever I choose... but the friends are still there. Every fella they haven't cared for thus far has gone by the wayside.

if u have good friends who actually have a brain, u gotta listen to ur friends. they can c wut u cant, and if they say the guys gotta go, then the guy has got to go. If u drop a friend over a guy, u will regret it 100% of the time. so if u believe ur friends really know you well, and they arent crack addicts or have self destructive/co-dependent personalities, then u drop the person ur with and keep ur friends.

Is this even a question ? don't we all know the difference between love & friendship ? Love is hard to find. ppl wait for a life time they don't find it. only if you're that lucky you will find it. friends are just friends. Before asking this question you should ask yourself would your friends ever sacrifice the guy or gal they love just for you? Be honest. Do you really think they would do that ? Once you've sincerely answer this question you'll have your answer too.
