your best bet is to call in some professionals for the job, however I'm guessing you are looking for a cheaper way to do the job,If you can pin point where they are coming from like a small hole in a wall of rocks or something like that get some petrol, tip it down into there nest at night while they are so called sleeping stuff a rag in the hole so none can get out and leave it there for the night, this will suffocate them so that they die, however petrol is flamable so be carefull, sure it can look amusing having thousands of wasps try fly off while on fire but it probaly won't kill them all so stick with the rag in the hole. If it is a big nest do not try to do it yourself, wasps can sting up to 9 times each before dying and the world record for someone surviving wasps stings is around 2500 which does not take all that many wasps from a hive to do this

I had a wasps nest in the eaves of my house. If you are in the U.K. call the council. I think enviromental health/pest control is the department you want. They send someone out. It was free when I had it done about 3 years ago.

why hasent anyone mentioned that wasps are not active during the night???
get yourself a can of raid or other "nest killer" bug spray, then AT NIGHT, go out and spray in the opening to the nest.

I didn't know you could have wasps this time of year. I think I would move to the northern hemisphere.

A shotgun! Tee hee, not really. :P
If the nest isn't very large, I'd dress up in really thick clothes (Be sure to duct tape around your neck, wrists and ankles, they CAN and WILL fly up there. It's not a bad idea to duct tape your shirts to your pants while you're at it. Wear something protective over your face and duct tape that down, too. Then blast the sonsabitches with bug spray.

try your local authority environmental health dept
failing that pest control
depending on where the nest is you may be able to kill them using a propriatory wasp killer

An aerosol of wasp killer is all you need, from most hardware stores.

Call the pest control officer at the council offices. They will smoke them out. Cost about £15.

We used to have wasps in our neighborhood. We all got together and let those wasps know that their kind is not welcome in our neighborhood.
A very nice hispanic family has moved in.
