If you 're looking for Price wise, I say Used Chrysler Sebring would be the best pick since Sebrings are cheap used.

Stylish, a lil bit more expensive, I would pick Audi TT roadster used. size 1.8 engine keeps low running cost.

What you want is a Chevy Cavilier with a four cylinder. They are cheap to maintain, and if it isn't rusted out, it won't be breaking the bank no matter what goes wrong. Watch out for rust underneath along the sides, and down below the hood hinges at the base of the windshield. The drains used to get clogged there, and cause a rust hole that would leak onto the electronics. If you live in the southwest rust probably won't be an issue.
