As Swarup Chowdhary, CEO, Reliance WebWorld says, “We have planned to set up 777 outlets in 600 cities and towns around the country.”

Reliance Infocomm runs its WebWorld outlets on a franchise model, which offers a host of communication and information services. The company is looking forward to promote its WebWorld outlets as one-stop shops for both travelling corporates as well as networked gaming fans. These stores will also double up as direct sales point and customer interaction point for all Reliance Infocomm’s products and services. The company is spending around Rs. 2 lakh on each computer system and has installed 20,000 systems nation-wide already.

In a recent development, Reliance Infocomm has tied up with Microsoft to launch the Halo Multiplayer championship at Reliance WebWorld. This initiative, which will be held across seven cities in the country November 15, has been designed to reach around 7000 gaming enthusiasts in India. The programme is part of the larger global Halo championships featuring participants from over 70 countries. The finals are slated for Los Angeles.
