Kobe Bryant is More Skilled/Talented than Michael Jordan

BUT...

Michael Jordan is a better player.

BUT...

Kobe Bryant is only 28

Therefore,

Kobe Bryant has time to become greater than Michael Jordan.

Now, lets stop the debate, it is too premature.

kobe might become greater than Michael Jordan, but he needs to quit elbowing people and quit getting himself suspended.

i can't believe you people actually believe this stuff.

Kobe being better than michael??? more skilled & technical? How long have you been a fan??? Have you even seen Jordan play???

The championship rings speak for themselves, great players make the people around them better players.

I've said this a million times, THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!! Kobe only won those rings because he had Shaq.

If you people really think Kobe is such a good player then why hasn't he won another ring??? Shaq did, and to think that Shaq's supporting cast are mostly antiques (except for D.wade) growing older by the minute.

Michael is definitely the better player, he dominated the league for each year the bulls won the championship.

Michael never had the talent that Kobe's supporting cast had, MJ never had any inside presence as dominating as Shaq and that's what makes his 6 rings all the more impressive.

Any NBA historian would tell you that almost all the championship teams from yesterday to today had one thing in common, a dominating big man in the middle.

From George Mikan, Russell, Chamberlain, Bill Walton, Wes Unseld, Willis Reed, Jabbar, Hakeem to Shaq. Who did Jordan have? Luc Longley??? Bill Wenington???

The mere fact that Jordan won all those titles without an inside presence is a testament to his greatness. Kobe is a great player and an exceptional talent, a generational talent if you may. But he is STILL far away from being in the same league as MJ.

Scoring points doesn't mean you're the greatest, it doesn't even matter if you score 100 if your team loses. Heck! it doesn't even matter if you have the best record in the league during the regular season, doesn't matter if your team makes a historic 82-0 during regular season if your team winds up losing when it matters the most...the championship!

Kobe tried to be an unselfish player lately, and to his credit he really tried to involve all his team mates...but what happened? 7 game slide and a record low for Phil Jackson, what happens next? Kobe reverts to being his normal ballhog self and decides to shoot the lights out.

Fact of the matter is, not until kobe has won a ring without the benefit of an imposing inside presence will he ever be considered truly in the same league as MJ or even better.

But the way things are, i don't think he will ever win again without a true big man, why else are the lakers so desperate for bynum to develop his game overnight???

Shaq won without kobe, if kobe is as great as you people say he is then where is his ring??? you may say Shaq won because of D. Wade which is definitely true...BUT IT IS ALSO TRUE that D. Wade could not have won without Shaq too.

So for all intents and purposes, MJ still has kobe's number.

Right now i have Michael Jordan as the 6th best guard in the game. I have Kobe Bryant around 11th or 12th - he still has alot of time left though and i believe before its all said and done with he will pass MJ.

You must be 11 years old or something and never saw MJ play. Take it from someone who saw plenty of both. Kobe is NOT more skilled/talented than MJ. I don't know what could have led you to think that other than maybe you just never saw Jordan actually play. And Wc.... Jesus Christ. 6th best guard? This isn't he first time I've seen really sketchy posts from you. Maybe you should post about a sport you know something about.

Jordan didn't simply dominate the NBA but the World. Team USA led by Jordan was truly the best team in the world. Kobe is clearly a monster with a basketball in his hands, but he still needs to prove that he can win it all. But in terms of pure offense, I don't think there is anyone ever who is as SKILLED as Kobe but that doesn't make him as great as Jordan...yet.

That's hilarious. Kobe more skilled than Jordan? Maybe more skilled at knocking people's faces.

Let's see how many championship rings Kobe has, compared to Michael. Regular season MVP? NBA finals MVP?

There you go.

as of right now jordon is the best basketball player ever; however, kobe is the best scorer ever. i had difficulty putting kobe ahead of Wilt for best scorer ever, but i had to realize that wilt was a center and it was alot easier for him to get to the basket, where as kobe has to take most of his shots around the perimenter, which is much harder, and to shoot around the perimeter and put up wilt's numbers is amazing.
and for those people that say kobe only won his championships because of shaq, your right. without shaq kobe would have never won any of them. but michael never won any championships without pippen, so you cant blame kobe for not winning any championships by himself, when jordon need help for him to win too. Also kobe plays in a much better league then when jordon did. if you put jordons bulls in the current western division, theres no way his teams would have won everyone of his championships

Are you kidding me? 6th best guard? You have to probably known nothing about basketball in order to say something like that. JORDAN IS AND WILL BE THE GREATEST EVER, but I like KB #24 too! Hope he gets more rings!

You are so very wrong come on MJ was and is still is the best player ever to play the sport. Well Jabaar must be second averageing 50+ points per game for a whole season.
but still i am sic of people comparing players to MJ.

How do you have MJ as the 6th best guard? 6th best player would be crazy, but 6th best guard. Ridiculous. Well I'd like to hear the 5 names you think are better at guard.
