Pearl and Dean is the company that does all the ads you see on the cinema before the movie starts (or they are the ones that organise them anyway).

I quite like their catchy tune lol. Its so intertwined with the movie experience now ........

Hope that helps little lady!

Wow, I've gone back ** years.
I can remember when you paid 1/6d for your ticket (unless you went upstairs which was 2/-) and not only did you see Pearl and Dean (adverts) but also the news (Pathe....**** crowing and all that) and also the main film and a 'B' film too. The cinema experience was a whole afternoon or whole evening. AND usherettes used to shine a torch to show you to your seats. And halfway through the performances (interval) usherettes would walk down the aisles with popcorn, ice-cream, hot salted peanuts and orange juice.
Hows that for good value for money!
Sixpence worth of chips on the way home with lots of salt and vinegar out of newspaper! Wonderful!!!
AND I'm not as old as you think! (Just got a good memory)
Thanx for letting me re-live my childhood.

Pearl and Dean do still exist - in fact their tune was just re-recorded by some orchestra or other. They normally play in Vue cinemas...
