You must be American because I think that you are missing the point about Jesus, and I'm an atheist! The reason I guess that you are American is because Americans seem to have their own peculiar ideas about the bible and tend to move things around to suit their own ideas.
I apologise to any sensitive souls out there who might think that I am being insulting towards Americans but this is not my intention and I apologise to the questioner if I have upset them in any way - perhaps you were attempting irony!

I don't think Jesus would bomb anyone, but having just read the story of Moses to my daughter today where God sent all the plagues on the Egyptians and killed all their eldest sons, I think God might (in your hypothetical)! He had a pretty bad temper in the Old Testament. Course, they also had "Slaves, obey your master." so I tend not to take a literal view of the Bible since I don't condone slavery either!
I think truthfully I'd like to just keep religion and politics separate; combining the two or having a President combining the two makes me nervous! I like the whole separation of church and state and would like to keep it that way...
