Oz is a prison drama that aired on HBO from 1998 to 2003. It was considered one of the best ever made, very realistic and very gritty; there were many episodes that deal with prison rape and seduction and how the "women" are treated; in fact one character, Beecher, who was a lawyer who got one too many DUI's, but was not prepared for prison life; wound up involved with the Aryan Brotherhood and was tattooed with a swastika and raped. A couple of seasons later he got revenge on the character who abused him. It really is a good show, but is not for the squeamish or faint of heart. And while it was airing, it was the favorite of prisoners everywhere because of its brutal honesty.

Its a show about a block in a prison and those who live and work there. All the violence, drugs and sex that happens there really happens in prison.
