I like the old Avril.
The "Skater Boy" and the "Nobody's Home" Avril.
Even the "Keep Holding On" Avril.
But this.....this......monstrosity that she sings "Girlfriend",is pure.....crap.

No , I listen to her and so do my kids and they range in ages 21, 12 , and 8 and I am 38. She is a good song writer and has a unique quality to her voice. Plus she will not conform to the dictations of the big producers, for her age I think that shows a strong sense of character.

god i freakin love her 1st album but her new song and video "girlfriend" is horrible. She changed from a sk8r grrl to a bubble gum pop girl. Don't get me wrong the outfit is cute as hell but it's not her type of music I keep thinking it's by Christina Agulara or something.

I was embarrassed to like her when she first came out. I bonded over "girlfriend" with my 12 year-old niece. I'm now taking pride in my appreciation for her work. I'm now (ack!!!) old enough to feel just fine in liking what I like no matter what others may have to say about it (ok, if I start liking Fergie or the pussycat dolls please feel free to shoot me).
