If the repo man thinks I'm in one state and I'm in another, how long will it take before they find me? I'm not hiding the car, it's just that I happened to move the same time they decided to try to repossess my car. Not sure what's going to happen here.

I have been out of work for a few months and have been unable to make my payments. The money my husband did make wasn't much and had to go toward rent and food and we barely had enought to pay for that stuff.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to hide my car but then I called and spoke to the car place and the lady was rude and wouldn't try to work anything out with me! She sent me a letter stating to call to make payment arrangements, yet when I called she said if I couldn't pay today that they were going to take it.

Now, I am hiding the car!

Yea, I think I meet that a sshole lady somewhere too. She sure gets around though. hahaha

Anyway, what they can do is trace you, you know. Also if you called them from the other state they have CALLED ID. Hint, Hint. Now if you are hiding it, then see how hard it is to get new plates from the state you are in. They check to see what it would cost for a El Cheapo paint job. That would help a lot. If you moved to an apartment complex, then you need to hide it AWAY from where you live. But in either case, you will have to put the vehicle AWAY from where you live and I know. You might actually have to walk a block or two home. But just a few tips.

they are able to legally take your motor vehicle after 3 consecutive non-funds. they are going to probable come for the motor vehicle interior of each week or 2 afterwards. letting them repossess won't absolve you of any destiny responsibilities. they're going to public sale the motor vehicle off and carry you in charge for the version between the merchandising cost and the stability of the own loan. So if the motor vehicle is offered for $5000 and you owed $12,000, they're going to come when you for $7000 plus towing, storage and different expenses incured in the process the repossession. So the applicable ingredient to do is sell it your self. commerce-it in for a greater fee-effective motor vehicle with funds you are able to handle. sell it privately or have somebody take over your funds. yet you're able to first compensate for the funds you ignored. Ask for an extension in case you're able to, in the event that they have not already began the repossession technique.

If your not trying to hide your car, why don't you just call the repo guy and tell him where you are so he can do his job since you obviously don't want your car...you'd a paid for it if you did.

Hiding the car doesn't help, it isn't yours anymore. Sorry, but you had an obligation which wasn't met, and now the only other option is to pay it out. They can check registration records.
