Well I knew what love was at the age of 16 - so you cant say that. I am now 22 and I have experienced a lot of relationships and I can tell you that I definately knew what love was.
If it hurts it is love.

well must not be love if you don't know what love is. you will know true love when it hits you. and i think at 16 its more of a crush or lust type deal. you and he have these raging hormones and those are tough to fight sometime. i promise you when love hits you you will know it. also there are alot of fish in the sea and one fish may not be what you want maybe you just want friendship with that fish. but keep fishing and you will find that right one and you will then know what love is. also if you really love someone you can tell them your dreams hopes and deepest secrets and no he will not judge you or put you down for it. my grandmother use to tell me love is a tingling Itch that the only true love can scratch. and that was sooooo true. so again you will know when its true love, you want to talk to him all the time, hate to leave him after you've gone out on a date. trust me you will just know when it is true love. play the field a little to see who your most compatible with, who has same interests you do. pretty much wants all the same things you want in life. i would say if you asking what love is your not in love cause you will know for sure,

Having a boyfriend at 16 is a time to date and get to know what type of boy you like. It is nice to go places and do things with someone you have things in common with. If one doesn't work out try another, that's how you find out who you like. It's kind of like a new pair of shoes. Keep trying them on until you get a pair that fits just right

Love at 16 or lower... It called Puppy loVe!
U will think u love them.. u will feel over the moon wen the person u love is beside u.. But at that point of time u do not think of the future.. u don think abt his character.. u will be showered with love and gifts and u will asume this is love..
In actual.. Love has more in it.. Even wen u are 30..its difficult to predict.. That's loVe!!

Think of it like shoes. Would you, try on,immediately buy and wear only one pair of shoes for your whole life, or would you rather try on a few different pairs to see which ones fit you best, and then knowing your making the right decision, buy the right pair.
Having different boyfriends at different stages of your life , help you grow into the kind of girlfriend and wife you'll want to be.
