A little thing we would be denied called "free will" perhaps?
The day the government tells me what is moral or immoral is the day I flee to Antartica, live amongst the penguins and start my own religion.

Nothing, as long as that external authority is absolute truth. The only place for man to receive absolute truth is from God's word, the Bible. From its pages we can draw out countless moral truths by which to order our lives. And the beauty of it is, we honor God in doing so and reap eternal life, providing we rely completely upon the Bible's greatest truth - we are hopelessly lost without the merit of Christ applied to our hearts.
