The NCERT books are the best they provide you enough information.If you still want then go for the social studies text books of 3 yrs back i know the syllabus has changed but they give you more information

frankly, social needs a lot of by-hearting... so i suggest u stick to the textbook
S Chand is pretty good... but NCERT is the best

NCERT books are the best. Reference books like evergreen and future-track are helpful.
