When in Jr High (some centuries ago)a very scared Cuban girl was enrolled in our school in mid year. She spoke no English....there was another student who was bi-lingual in Spanish/English so she translated. I remember her a being very nice and friendly even though she started out frightened. Her family was polite as well. She helped us learn Spanish and we helped her learn English. She used to laugh at some of our English words...they sounded funny to her. One word was "Lilac". She laughed all day over that one. Good Memories
