Just when you think you have something on that show figured out they throw you a curve ball like this!
I don't know - he is a bad egg and they don't like that - maybe they knew Locke would be tempted to become one of them if they had something he wanted??
Don't know - but I do love that show! Can't wait to find out!

Well, remember that they have ways of getting people from the regular world, so they could've researched John at some point and found out about his situation and they're trying for some leverage. Remember that Ethan was a plant at the beginning, and maybe there are more Other plants. They could've relayed the names of the people back to Ben early on. Locke definitely is different with his island connection, I could see how Ben would want him on his side.

I'm not really sure that his dad IS there. I thought that Ben had said whatever you wanted would be on the other side of the door and Locke must have wanted his dad there so he could kick some butt! I don't know, though. I'm just grasping at straws here.
