Yes I have. You can represent yourself. Go to the Supreme Court and pick up a divorce packet it is free of charge and file for an uncontested divorce only if your spouse will agree to the divorce. The cost of the divorce will be $350.00. An uncontested divorce occurs when: (a) there are no disagreements between you and your spouse over any financial or divorce-related issues (i.e., child custody and support, division of marital property or spousal support); and (b) your spouse either agrees to the divorce, or fails to appear in the divorce action. If you wish to waive the fee you can do so by showing proof of your current income i.e., unemployment or insufficient income. Good luck.

My husband and I did our divorce without a lawyer and it was fairly simple. You can get the paper work you need at your courthouse and most of them have an area with typewriters where you can fill them out. You have to pay a filing fee and someone other than yourself has to serve your spouse. Then you wait for their response which your spouse can handle the same way. If there are no objections, then there is a waiting period and the marriage is dissolved after it is up. If you have kids and have to go through custody issues or if you own property together and are unable to decide who gets what, then you will save yourself a lot of grief by hiring an attorney. My husband and I had already agreed who got what and we just listed it in the appropriate place on the forms. We divorced 7 years ago so it may have changed but I can't imagine it being too different now. Good luck. If you need extra help or advice, try free legal aide, every city has an office. They are great and will even go to court with you if you need them to.

If the two of you can work out a mutual agreement about your property, $$, kids, then you can do it without a lawyer. Once it's your day in court the judge asks you if you understand and agree to the terms you've set. She will ask your spouse the same thing. But if something doesn't seem right to you, get a lawyer, or at least consult one.

Yes. Go on line and google uncontested divorce or do it yourself divorce. You can get all of the info for your state and prepare the papers yourself for between $35 and $50. You still have to pay the filling fee to the court and that cost depends on the state in which you live.
An uncontested divorce can only be done if both parties agree.

I am currently going thru a divorce. She has a lawyer her dad got her, I am self representing. I am also in California, and they have all the forms online. And she and I are in agreement about how to split our property. So far, So good. But make sure you research everything about the laws in your state.

I took the papers off of the net for free for my state, called a county near by because their divorces were cheaper than the county I live in, sent in half the money with the required papers, waited my waiting period, sent in the other half of the money and the remaining papers, and the Judge signed them-Final. Call different courts, and talk to the person in charge of divorce's, she may help-if she knows your doing it yourself. Or call a Paralegal, they hardly charge anything.

Yep, went to a paralegal. She prepared all of the papers for $200. We just had to sign the papers, file them at the courthouse, and show up to court. However, there were no children or property involved so that made things easier.

yes, my ex and I are still able to talk to each other even now after 13years, we talked about all the issues that we had and made agreements between us what would happen, there was still tears and upsets, but he is a far better person from the experience of bringing up two boys whom wanted to stay with him, that was my hardest hurdle, but if there are children involved you both as adults need to do what is best for them not yourselves!

Unfortunately, no. I wanted to go the 'no lawyer' route, but my ex-husband refused. However, my cousin and her ex-husband didn't use lawyers. They used the We The People document service and had no difficulty at all.
Good luck.
