In school, you probably took those nasty tablets that showed you how dirty your teeth were, and the places you dont brush.
The bleeding that comes from brushing is caused by occasionally hitting those places you normally dont.
Your gums are like anything else on your body. The more you exercise them, the more you work them out, the tougher they get. If you arent toughening up 100% of your gums, the ignored parts will be weak and tend to bleed with little force.
If you skip brushing for a few days, you will bleed the next time you do brush, not to mention offending a few people with your breath.
If you have bleeding gums, you should brush your teeth as completely as you can, dont be too wimpy.....expect some blood the first few times.....but after a few hard brushings, you will notice little to no blood. Sometimes you can softly but completely brush your gums while watching t.v. with a tooth brush and no tooth paste.

Yes, you could bleed when you brush your teeth, it could be as a result of bacterial contact with your gum when you sleep. And when you get up from bed and brush your teeth, it simply opens up an injury in the gum. So it is advisable to avoid taking sweet food especially before going to bed

No, but it has happened in the past. You probably need to brush more (and better) and also floss. This bleeding is probably a sign of gingivitis. This causes your gums to shrink, exposing more of your teeth (making them loose & easy to lose).
If bleedin doesn't clear up in about 2 weeks of better brushing and flossing, make an appointment to see your dentist so you can come up with a plan to save your teeth.
God bless!

Sometimes. My dentist told me to use a soft bristle tooth brush. Make sure you floss well and have regular dental checkups. This can sometimes be an early sign of gum disease.

bleeding when brushing means your teeth are dirty, and are being cut by the plaque on your brush, so the more you brush, the less theyll bleed
