The red-bellied black snakes around here, seem to have a fascination with my chicken coop! Nothing quite like walking into an enclosed space with one entry / exit and coming face to face with a 3 metre long venemous snake!
They don't bother my adult chickens, they are just after the mice that come in for the food.
I just call the wildlife people and they usually come around within the hour to collect the snake and either release it elsewhere or take it to a venom collector if they are low on anti-venom for that species of snake.
