Huge debate in my house... is "professional" wrestling a sport. I do not pay too much attention but I think it's called WWF.... you know the big tv show. I say, it's not a sport, it's contact acting.... they have to look good like actors, they wear make up like actors, they follow "scripts" like actors, they get paid to be on tv like actors.... but to my husband, this is a sport! So I ask, do you believe "athletes" in the WWF are competing in a sport... or acting a part?

I'm not one to say hey it's fake so don't watch it... I think it's a show, put on to be enjoyed... but I will not go so far as to call it a "sport"

Professional wrestlers are skilled and athletic, but they do not compete in a sport, any more than an acrobat or a stuntman does.

its the WWE now and I think they are definitely athletes competing in staged events. I know that the outcomes are fixed but I don't care. I just suspend disbelief and have a good time. No different then watching Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. Yeah I know its not real but I don't care I love it.

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake, choreographed all the way, though there is some big time contact, it is to dang fake, I have this debate with my girl friend.
