I contracted an STD during childhood due to abuse. When doctors see the medication on my file, they often raise their eyebrows or get very off-ish. When I go to buy the medication, the sales people and pharmasists will get a real attitude problem, and start treating me rudely. Sometimes, especially if they are young guys they laugh. Its hard enough to deal with having it and knowing how I got it without this extra humiliation.
It seems to happen no matter what pharmacy I use.
What should I do???? I stopped taking it but just got sick and stressed and that made it worse.

I am going to assume that you are talking about the STD herpes....Please do not stop taking your meds...I do not know where you live but here if a Dr or pharmacist acted like you said he should be reported...You do not state your age but you do know that you can still get consuling for what happened in your childhood and bring up these problems too....Try going to a large chain pharmacy like Eckerds or Walgreens...I am sure they dispense this med all the time and think nothing of it......Find someone to talk to soon.....Good Luck..

i know you have been through a very difficult experience, and contracting the STD was not your fault if you were abused. if you truly think that the pharmacy techs and pharmacists are being rude or laughing at you, I think you need to call the store management or corporate to resolve the matter, since it is unacceptable for them to do that....however, it is very unlikely that all of these doctors and pharmacy techs/pharmacists are laughing at you or being stand offish about the STD, especially the doctors, because it should be in your file that you got it through sexual abuse. If it is not in your file, you should make sure it is put in there. Additionally, the next time a doctor acts weird about it, say something! Ask him/her why the eyebrows are being raised. Put them on the spot.

Regardless, I think you may be extra sensitive about this issues because of the abuse you suffered. It would be very beneficial for you (and all other sexual abuse victims) to receive counseling. There is nothing wrong with you, but talking things out with the therapist and developing ways to deal with the abuse will help you get your self esteem and self confidence back. Not only will you find picking up the meds to be a better experience, but you will find yourself feeling better in general. Again, if you truly feel that the abuse has not made you more sensitive to other peoples' reactions, then you need to start filing formal complaints.

Good Luck, and Take Care.

I got identified with herpes virus (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/VYrtQ everything got better.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

Screw them! It's not their right to judge. They need to do their job and get on with it. I swear people don't know what the word "professional" means anymore.

I'm really sorry to hear about the abuse and its wrong that you must suffer with this humiliation everytime you get your meds.

Order it offline or switch pharmacies.

Order meds online and get them delivered.
or even better
People are ignorant, you don' t deserve that, tell them to shut their mouths if they laugh, and them to "cut it out! " loudly and forcfully if they're being rude.

good luck
