People are dying from stress and depression and to me the media needs an overhaul to eliminate some of all this stress and the newspapers as well. There are many comments from people in the world stating how the media and newspaper detailing events makes them ill.

i totally agree with you... i would like to add that the media... adds spices to a simple news.... they are people who add rumors.... and sell it to make their own niche....
i feel... that rather than following the news one should read the analysis...

There's an old news adage: "If it bleeds, it leads." Death, corruption, scandal, crime...all seem to take up the majority of news these days. Unfortunately, we can't ignore the terrible things that happen in society. It's the media's job to report the news and keep the public informed, negative or otherwise.

With local TV especially, it's hard to cram into a 30-minute broadcast the day's news, weather and sports, plus the little fluff piece at the end about a puppy rescued from a stormdrain. Let's not forget the commercials!

So what can folks do? Well, they can ignore the news altogether or they can watch the negative stuff and instead of worrying about it, they can ask themselves the following:

"What can I do to help change things? How can I make a difference so one less person doesn't have to endure that kind of hardship?"

Don't watch the news, or TV for that matter. Everything, really, plays a part in your mind. Think about this, the colors of most fast food restaurants are either red, yellow, are both. This is because studies show that yellow makes you hungry, and red means stop, and or urgent. Fast- red, yellow- stop urgently. Now think about if we studied and generalized everyone like the mass media does. They will have enough info to create market strategies, even pick the president you will vote for. So, watch who is telling what and what is telling you who.
