The hardest for me was playing the violin. At first it was HARD, then it got even HARDER. What was the hardest instrument you've ever played? I know in the beginning it was hard. So what was it?

I tried the guitar but I never could play well. Then I tried a banjo. I figured 5 strings would be easier to play than six. While playing Foggy Mountain Breakdown, the opening requires you to slide your little finger all the way down the neck. I found out that without a healthy callous on your fingertip, that little string will slice right through your finger. Ouch!

Hardest thing I ever played was the accordion. I was only 41/2 years old-it was enormous! I've also played the flute, piano and organ.
I have always wanted to be able to play the mouth harp (not the harmonica).

By far the hardest instrument i have tried is bagpipes, because you have to fell the bag with air will pushing it out while playing the notes, it is big and bulky.

Violin, also. You didn't specify played well. I didn't stick to it. The three other instruments I play half-way decent were much easier to learn. If I was going to learn a string instrument, I would want to learn cello. Much more forgiving.

I play violin! :) It's not that hard.... but it's tiring. All i play is piano and violin none of them are hard.
