A router is what you would use on the PC end to actually transmit the signal to the PS3. The PS3 can send and receive data but only if it has a wireless connection provided by You.

My advice is not to go wireless unless you have to. Run an Ethernet (network) cable to the back of the unit from a switch connected to your PC. Wireless is much slower.

the 60 gig ps3 has a built in wifi receiver.
