I need to find out monthly prices for all the apartments in Columbus, OH. But I've tried everything and every website, but I get nothing. Does anyone know how to look for cheap but good apartments? I've never done this before =[

One way to do this online is go to www.craigslist.com and select your area. It's like a large, online, free classified ads, and has a lot of listings usually.

Another way is to watch the classfieds in your newspapers, and especially watch for rental agencies. Under the "Apartments" section in your classifieds, you'll see some listings that are multiple listings under a company name or logo, usually with a telephone number or even a web page. Call these companies and ask them how you can obtain a listing of all their rentals. You can also go to Real Estate offices and ask them if they have listings, or if they can refer you to a company that keeps a good catalog of available apartments. Usually there will be companies that track all the rentals in your area, and you pay them $30 or whatever for a large list.

I have tried on-line but have found it to be very limiting. The best way is either classifieds, or my area has an apartment magazine that is published monthly (i think) that lists all of the apartment buildings and complexes. it does not have individual apart in houses or houses for rent. If you live near a college they will have lists of available housing, but these are usually rough places and may be heavily damaged or damage prone.
